Sam DeFrank MARION-Sam DeFrank, 49, of Marion passed away at 6:00 PM, Friday, April 9, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion with Monsignor Thomas Flach officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Sam was born on May 9, 1960 in Marion to Joe S. and Lois (Beltz) DeFrank. He married Kimberly Trimm on March 24, 1984 in Marion; together they shared 26 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Kim DeFrank of Marion; son, Nicolas DeFrank of Marion; mother, Lois DeFrank of Marion; sisters and brothers-in-law, Deana and Rick Smith of Marion and Kim and Matt McCann of Darien; nephew, Joe McCann; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Melba Trimm of Marion; and aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father. Sam was employed by the Housing Authority of the City of Marion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing. His favorite pastimes were his 2 dogs, “Sarilla” and “Sassy” and spending time with his family and friends.
