Sandra Jean Walker- Cavitt, 83 peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 10, 2023, in Evansville, Indiana. Born on November 13, 1939, in Marion, Illinois, Sandra was the beloved daughter of Oral and Norine Browning. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Alma Lee Browning and her brother John Browning.
Sandra married Floyd L. Walker on September 2, 1960. They were married 43 years, until his death on November 28, 2003. Together they shared three sons: Mark, Steve, and Aaron Walker.
In 2005, Sandra married Jerry L. Cavitt and they shared 18 years together in Marion, IL.
Sandra was a very creative and loving woman who always knew how to have fun. She dedicated her life to her family, serving as a full-time mom to her three sons and ensuring they never wanted for anything. Her nurturing nature and devotion were evident in every aspect of her life.
Later on, Sandra found joy working at Distinctive Interiors, where she could share her talents and creativity with others. Her passion for decorating and entertaining made holidays extra special and beautiful for everyone. She loved to travel and explore new places, always finding inspiration for her next creative.
Sandra is survived by her husband Jerry L. Cavitt; her sister, Judy (Ron) Browning Chamness; her brother Butch (Debbie) Browning; her sons Mark (Shelley) Walker, Steven (Catherine) Walker, and Aaron (Jennifer) Walker. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Joshua (Sarah) Walker, Christopher Walker, Justin Walker, Nicholas Walker, Eric Walker, Marycate Walker, Kelsy Walker, and Kendall Walker. Additionally, she was blessed with great-grandchildren Katelyn, Lauren, Jacob, and Kaiden.
Binkley-Ross Funeral Home has been entrusted to assist the family with arrangements. A celebration of Sandra’s life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice in her memory. This gesture will honor Sandra’s compassionate nature and support a cause that was close to her heart.
Sandra Jean Walker-Cavitt will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched with her love, creativity, and dedication. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.
