Sarah Loretta (Kinley) Ward

With a heavy heart, we announce the death of Sarah Loretta Ward (Kinley) of Energy, Illinois, born in Herrin, Illinois, who passed away on March 17, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family, bonus family, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Earl Kinley and Cora Geneva Kinley (Harding); her husband, Clarence “Bud” Ward; her son, Kevin Ward; her brother William “Buddy” Kinley; and her sisters, Jean Litton, Earlene “the Dove” Jones, and Jacqueline Mae Barnes.

She is survived by her brother, Larry Kinley of Phoenix, AZ; her daughter, Deborah and son in law Roy Jack of Energy; many bonus children from the days of the Ward Hotel; and her grandchildren, Charity Jack, Caleb Hodges, Aaron Murray, and Luke Murray. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Jack, Taylor, and MacKenzie Finley.

Binkley-Ross Funeral Home has been entrusted to assist the family with funeral arrangements. Services will be held at Marion First Apostolic, 923 N. Bentley St, Marion, Illinois, on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, with visitation at 11:00 am immediately followed by the funeral at 12:30 pm. Services will also be livestreamed at https://www.marionfirstac.com/livestream
