Shelly Smothers-Bonney MARION- Shelly Smothers-Bonney, 29, of Marion passed away at 7:12 PM, Wednesday, January 25, 2006 south of Marion. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 29, 2006 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Roger Perry officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 29, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Shelly was born on September 6, 1976 in Carbondale, Illinois to Jack and Cindy (Overturff) Smothers. She had a daughter, Kaylynn Bonney, on Jan. 7, 1996; she was very proud of her and loved her dearly. Survivors include her father and step-mother, Jack and Pam Smothers of Marion; brother and sister-in-law, Clint and Jessica Smothers of Chicago; sisters, Shara Peyton of Marion and Lisa Wilson of Florida; grandmother, Rosetta Smothers of Marion; grandparents, Bill and Sue Dungey of Marion; great grandmother, Manda Turner of Marion; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Cindy Smothers and her grandfather, Jack Smothers. Shelly was employed by the Maytag Corporation in Herrin. She loved motorcycles and 4-wheeling. She was an avid animal lover.
