Steven Eugene Ward, 72, of Creal Springs, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his residence on April 25, 2025. Born on June 13, 1952, he was the son of the late Thomas Walter Ward and Mildred McErn Ward.

On April 24, 1976, Steven married the love of his life, Sally Mappin Ward. Together, they shared 49 wonderful years of marriage and raised two sons, Matthew Scott Ward and Joshua Thomas Ward.

Steven worked as a maintenance technician for Pepsi/Crisp Containers and was known for his strong work ethic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tinkering around the farm. Above all, Steven loved his family deeply, especially his grandchildren, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

He is survived by his loving wife Sally, sons Scott and Joshua, and granddaughters Kasha Ward and Natalia Ward. He also leaves behind his sister Pamela Davis, sister-in-law Judy Ward, dear friends Wes Johns and Dave Fisher, and his loyal hunting dog Rocco.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Thomas Ward and Gregg Ward; brother-in-law William Mappin; and mother-in-law June Mappin.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Blue Funeral Home under the direction of Binkley-Ross. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Light House Shelter located at 1101 North Madison Street, Marion, Illinois.
