Marion- Tilden Parks, Jr., 95, of Marion, died at 9:35, AM, Monday, July 3, 2017 at Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehab.
Tilden was born on September 1, 1921 in Williamson County, IL to Tilden and Margaret (Allen) Parks. He married Rosalie Roberts on April 14, 1945 in Harrisburg. She preceded him in death on February 24, 2005.
He was retired from the livestock industry where he worked for many years as a cattle dealer. Tilden was a longtime member of Arnold View Free Will Baptist Church in Creal Springs, the Rotary Club of Marion and he was an eighteen year member of the Community Savings and Loan Board in Marion. He was also a 4 year term on the Farm Bureau and was an avid SIU Basketball fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 4 brothers- Theodore “Tony”, Fred, Milo and Nathaniel Parks, 4 sisters- Julia Gamble, Mary Borum, Beulah McCarty and Geneva White.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 7, 2017 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Rev. Ivan Ryan and Rev. Brett Beasley will officiate. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
