Carbondale- William (Bud) Robert Ticer, 86, of Carbondale, formerly of Murphysboro, passed away at 4:00pm on Tuesday February 8, 2005 at the Carbondale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mr Ticer was born November 3, 1918 to Benjamin H. and Elsie E. (Smith) Ticer. He married Alma Aileen Mazo on January 15, 1938 in Cape Girardeau, MO. She preceded him in death November of 1966. William was a sawmill operator for many years, having retired from the Southern Illinois University Horticulture Dept. Survivors include- 3 sons- Billy (his wife Margie) Ticer- Johnston City, IL Donnie (his wife Gloria) Ticer- Cambria, IL Jerry Ticer- Marion, IL 6 daughters- Ruth (her husband Fred) Dunning- Cambria, IL Linda (her husband John) Gossman- DuQuoin, IL Jeanie (her husband Bill) Hill- Johnston City, IL Tina (her husband Bo) Skiles- Johnston City, IL Anna Mae Dunning- Pinckneyville, IL Debbie (her husband Allen) Stilley- IL Daughter-In-Law- Betty Ticer- Royalton, IL Sister- Cynthia Elvinia Taylor- Gorham, IL 37 Grandchildren Many Great Grandchildren Preceded in death by- His parents wife- Alma Aileen (Mazo) Ticer 4 sons- Robert, Richard, Jeff, and Larry Ticer 2 grandchildren- Mary Lou Ticer and Geri Lynn Dunning 4 brothers- Ben, Sam, Carl, and George Ticer 2 sisters- Irene Adams and Ruth Rouse The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 10, 2005 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. The Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-2:00 PM, Thursday, February 10, 2005 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois.
