William C. Bill Woodis, 64, of Herrin, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at his home.
Bill was born on December 21, 1945 in Herrin to Roy & Nelma (Price) Woodis. He married Karen Ashoff on January 20, 1968 in Herrin. Together they shared forty two years. She survives of Herrin.
Bill was a Veteran having served honorably in the US Marine Corp. He owned and operated Woodis and Sons Construction. He was a member of the Herrin American Legion.
Bill loved life. He especially loved his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Sister- Judi (Woodis) Dusch & husband Dan of DeSoto
Sister in law- Latisa Woodis of Herrin
Nephew- Todd Cornelius & wife Tracy
Niece- Julie Cornelius & Larry Pusateri
Niece- Lori Dillard and husband Doug

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brothers- Roy Butch Woodis, Jr and Dale Woodis, nephew- Gregory Scott Cornelius, special aunt- Nell McSpadden, mother in law- Helen Ashoff and sister in law- Connie Ashoff.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Ralph Brandon will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Military rites will be performed at graveside by the Herrin VFW and American Legion Posts in association with the Illinois National Guard. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service, Saturday at the funeral home.
