William "Peanut" Campbell Jr was born December 28, 1963, and on Sunday March 2, at 9:01 p.m. his mom Jeannie Campbell and father William Campbell Sr walked with him hand in hand into heaven! Also waiting on him was the only man I ever knew my dad to look up to, honor, respect and love to the level that he did and that was his brother, Tom Wright. "If there is ever anyone to follow in the footsteps of let it be that man right there" that was the answer I got when I asked my dad one time why he idolized my Uncle Tommy so much.
He is survived by his wife Deborah K. Campbell; his three children Steven (Erika) Campbell, William (Jamie) Campbell III, and Stephanie Campbell; eight grandchildren, Peyton Campbell, Elora Campbell, Kaylynn Campbell, Leelean Campbell, Easton Campbell, Jasmine Campbell, Elizabeth Campbell, and Phoenix Campbell. He had seven siblings, although he was closest to Deb (Lerch) McRoy, Adrianna (Scott) Rapp, and Kay (Morgan) Thomas. William had several close friends that he called brothers, Bobby Shreves, Roger Pritchett, Tommy Shadowens, Tommy Hickey, and Preston; and a very dear friend Valerie Adams that was very close to his heart. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly, and his fishing buddy Geo Bloodworth.
He had a simple soul with an extraordinary personality who had stories for days, but his greatest accomplishment came when he found God. Watching the power of our almighty Father take my dad from who he used to be to who he had become should be proof to everyone that our Lord and Savior is in fact real!
